The classes will involve:
Orchestra: An opportunity to play in a chamber orchestra, made up of students from the Advanced, Adult and Intermediate course members to learn a variety of music for string orchestra, some of which will be performed at the end of the week.
Chamber music: where they will be in smaller ensembles suited to each individual’s level to have fun while improving sight- reading and listening skills.
Traditional Irish music: This is a chance to learn some of the wonderful Irish airs and dances. This class is a great way to develop the ear as it is primarily learnt by listening and repeating. If by any chance a student plays a second instrument such as concertina, or tin whistle, they will be very welcome in these classes.
Warm ups/ brain games/ improvisation : Due to popular demand, Lisa will take this the intermediates for this class also this year. The emphasis is on fun and getting to know each other, but which will stimulate concentration, rhythm and help them to become at one with their instrument!
